Sarah Lindemulder is a dedicated partner in trauma healing work, committed to restoring stability and vitality to those facing crisis in Downtown Sioux Falls. As a part of the crisis stabilization program, she skillfully integrates evidenced-based therapeutic modalities such as iRest© and Somatic Experiencing™. Drawing from her background in social work, Sarah has continuously pursued further education to incorporate the ever-expanding body of research advocating for somatic-based techniques. Her transition to yoga from her previous role in immigrant and refugee foster care with unaccompanied minors, as well as assisting individuals affected by homelessness, unplanned pregnancy, domestic violence, and other traumatic events, showcases her unwavering commitment to holistic healing approaches.
Project objectives:
Weekly guided relaxation practice to stabilize the nervous systems of staff at Union Gospel Mission, resulting in staff members able to coregulate with residents
Weekly guided relaxation practice for folks living at UGM and nearby areas
Reduce number of violent incidents occurring at and near the shelters
Reduce chronic pain, improve sleep, and reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety and other manifestations of PTSD
Improve staff retention at the Union Gospel Mission and reduce burnout and the symptoms of Secondary Traumatic Stress Trauma
